Our Mission Statement

We are devoted team of individual contributors committed to do whatever it takes to meet our customers critical needs and
exceed their expectations.

MODYNE BEGINS

Modyne Machining and Manufacturing opened its doors as a job shop machine shop in 1979 by Dal Eyre and Gary Calkins, both machinist themselves.  It was located on 5200 West and 4700 South. Modyne built its’ reputation on quick turn around repair work.

Soon the need for a fabrication shop arose.  So we added 2,000 sq. ft. and four or five full time welder/fitters.  In 1983, they hired a hydraulic technician and added a cylinder repair section.  This department also does the tear down and assembly of various pieces of customers equipment. We continued to grow and added not only to the structure of the facility but also its diversification of service.

In November of 1988, Modyne was awarded the contract to work with Fluor Daniel on a fabrication project for Hercules Aerospace.  The building would not handle the project and we relocated to the current location, which is a 15,000 sq. ft. facility.  In May of 1994 , the owners decided it was time for them to move on to other things.    Heather Higgins purchased the business and assets from Eyre and Calkins.

MODYNE PROGRESSES

For the next few years, we continued on which expanding our customer base and opening different types of work for our customers. In the late 90’s, we had a substantial down swing when our largest machine customer went bankrupt, but we have continued battling back to have billed over $4.5 million in 2006 and 2007 looks like it will be close to $6 million in gross revenue!!

Our focus is and always has been on committing ourselves to do whatever it takes for the customer will always be the cornerstone of Modyne’s foundation. For the last three years, we have improved our customer service level from a low of 74% to our current level of 96% in terms of error free and on time delivery of product.  We are always aware of the interdependence between customer and vendor and work towards creative, economical solutions.   Modyne has continued to grow and add to its product service delivery.  We have added larger and more diverse pieces of equipment.

In 2003, EIMCO Process Equipment was bought out and merged with a company called Dorr-Oliver.  At that time they closed their manufacturing facilities and started outsourcing all production. In addition to the discrete parts we have always made for EIMCO, we became a prime resource for DOEIMCO for drum filters, small extractors and drive assembly.   Our annual sales combined with the Salt Lake and Canada has gone from $2 Million in 2003 to $ 5 Million in 2007;  Recently they have been purchased by FL Smidth and we currently have $3.9 Million booked through October of 2008.
