Over the years Modyne has used the foundation of a maintenance repair facility to expand into fabrication, machine or hydraulic specific projects.
Recently, Modyne’s work schedule included projects such as: a salt conveying structure with wash basin which was over 100,000 # of stainless and carbon steel; sand storage towers in Salt Lake; weigh hoppers, charge buckets, for a steel maker; walkways and platforms; the machine, fabrication and assembly of two 63” Stainless Steel Expansion joints, as well as numerous Drum Filter projects, Extractors (Horizontal Belt Filters); and drive head components and assembly.
Modyne has served the steel making, mining and construction industry for over 19 years as a job shop machine and fabrication shop with a specialization in hydraulics and assembly.
As quick reference, in the fabrication shop we tend towards light to medium miscellaneous structural and plate work, such as bins, tanks, hoppers, conveyors, handrails, platforms, etc.
We work with many types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and all of our welders are AWS1.1 certified.
One of the nice advantages to our shop is the addition of the machine and assembly shop which adds to our ability to do mechanical work.
Modyne’s machine shop is strictly a job shop with capacity is for small, medium and some larger pieces of equipment.
Our longest lathe will turn 19” diameter x 360”. Our largest horizontal boring mill has a travel capacity of 48” vertical x 72” longitudinal x 134” horizontal travel . We also have a vertical mill which will turn 108” diameter x 57” under the rails.
As we mentioned above, we have the hydraulic and assembly shop which does tear down, repair and also general millwright assembly work.
